Little karim
Little Karim is a famous name in mountaineer.He is born in the Village of District Ghanche Hushe in 1956. He hasnt equipped himself with power knowledge and education. To contribute his family from early age of his life he started grazing the animals and helped his father Muhammad Jan in agricultural activities. When was six year old he lost his mother that was the most difficult and embarrassing time for him. Anway in 1976 in the age of 19 he stepped out of his village and reached to Skardu with the intention of being part of porters to K-2 expedition team. When he reached to Shahi Polo Ground Skardu a famous British Climber Chriss Bonnington was selecting porters for K-2 expedition but he has rejected Apo Karim because of his height which really disappointed him. To prove his power Apo Karim make three rounds trip to the ground by, picking up Chriss Bonnington any way he got selected and started his career as porter. In 1981 Little Karim was the leader of high altitude porters with Japanese expedition leading by famamous Pakistani Climber Nazir Sabir. At the altitude of 7100m the expedition team's oxygen and foods run out and trapped, Apo Karim lifted foods and oxygen to them immediately at 7100m alititude and Nazir Sabir said the Apo Karim kept them alive.
In 1981 Apo Karim has conquered Ghashabrum-II. A French flim maker Bovin made three documentary films on Little Karim life with were names of Little Karim, Apo Karim and Mr. Karim and these flims respectively released in 1985, 1997 and 2010. The flim named Apo Karim won an International Mountaineering award which makes little Karim most papular figure in Europe. He has also climbed Broad peak, G-1 and several times to Gondogoro La. He tried to summit K-2 nine times and returned back100m away from the top because of weather conditions. Mostly times he rescued international climbers from heights of mountains. In mountaineering world he has great fam and popularity.
Because of his popularity among mountaineering community Lincoin University of Newzealand offered subject for P.hD study on Little Karim and he given an interviewed to the University in Newzealand. He has awarded Gold Medal by German Govt which made him more popular in Europe. Little Karim is among the most admired figure in the world whose Statue has been displayed in a Musium in France. In 2018 he was the chief guest on the occasion of Spain national event where Prime Minister of Spain accompanying him. The reknowned footballer Cristiano Ronaldo met him and printed his shirt on Little Karim name.
Little Karim has also been working on social developement in his Village Hushy. Through his Village based organization he striving to educate yound generation of his Village.
